Compilation and Reporting of Singapore's Cross-Border Financial Derivatives
The Singapore Department of Statistics (DOS) has compiled and released data on cross-border transactions and holdings of financial derivatives. The new series on financial derivatives has been published in the financial account of the balance of payments
(BOP) with the publication of the Economic Survey of Singapore for 2011, and will be reported in the international investment position (IIP) with effect from the release of IIP 2011.
The Information Paper titled “Compilation and Reporting of Singapore’s Cross-Border Financial Derivatives” explains the conceptual framework and presents the methodology for the compilation of statistics on cross-border derivatives.
The paper also provides an analysis of Singapore’s asset and liability positions in financial derivatives with non-residents.
